Introduction Objectives of Our Survey Methodology
Objectives of Our SurveyNetBig.com's "China's University Rankings 2000" survey was developed with three objectives in mind:
1. Be Rational and Unbiased
NetBig.com selected a highly qualified team of unbiased experts to participate in our survey. These experts include university professors, university administrators and professionals from China's education departments.2. Be Realistic
Our survey divided the universities in China in to two groups: Key Universities (universities participating in the Chinese Government's "211 Education Plan" and "Key Universities" accredited by Education Department of China) and Other Universities (universities not participating in the "211 Education Plan" and "Key Universities"). Universities in these two groups were ranked separately. In order to more realistically capture the differences between Major Universities and Other Universities, two different weighting systems were used (see below).3. Be Representative
Rather than limiting our sample to the top-level administrators in universities and education departments, NetBig.com sought input from professionals at all levels, both within and outside the education system. Survey respondents ranged from scholars, professors and principals to socialists and entrepreneurs.
